Position Summary:
The Senior Technical Buyer will be responsible for leading complex procurement processes for technical materials and services, ensuring the best commercial, operational, and strategic outcomes.
This role requires strong experience in supplier negotiation, global sourcing, and supply chain management, with a solid focus on cost optimization, quality, and compliance.
The professional will act as a key decision-maker, driving continuous improvement initiatives while supporting the development of junior and mid-level buyers, and managing high-impact projects and strategic supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead sourcing and supplier selection processes (RFI, RFP, RFQ, and BID), ensuring alignment with business strategy and technical requirements
- Define procurement strategies for materials and services, leveraging market intelligence to create competitive advantage
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers
- Conduct complex negotiations, ensuring the best conditions in cost, quality, and delivery timelines
- Define and coordinate the most appropriate INCOTERM for global operations
- Manage import/export processes, ensuring regulatory compliance
- Act as a key stakeholder in strategic partnerships and long-term supplier agreements
- Manage and optimize the end-to-end procurement process, from requisition to supplier payment, including quality, accounting, and tax aspects (NCM, CFOP)
- Drive automation and digital transformation initiatives within procurement processes
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, Export Control, and regulatory requirements
- Identify and execute cost reduction initiatives and strategic sourcing opportunities
- Define, monitor, and evaluate supplier KPIs, focusing on delivery, quality, and cost efficiency
- Manage supplier performance reviews and action plans for non-conformities or returns
- Prepare strategic reports for leadership, providing data-driven insights and recommendations
- Mentor and develop junior and mid-level buyers
- Promote knowledge sharing and a high-performance, collaborative culture
- Represent the procurement function in cross-functional projects and strategic meetings
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, International Trade, or related fields
- Postgraduate degree or MBA in Supply Chain, Procurement, or related areas is a plus
Professional Experience:
- Over 7 years of experience in technical procurement, including complex negotiations and global sourcing
- Proven experience in import/export operations and strong knowledge of INCOTERMS
- Track record in cost reduction projects and supplier development initiatives
Technical Skills:
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP or similar)
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skills
- Solid knowledge of tax regulations (NCM, CFOP)
- Advanced English for negotiations, documentation, and stakeholder interaction
- Strong knowledge of Strategic Sourcing and Supply Chain Management
- Familiarity with Export Control, Compliance, and international trade regulations
